The 26th AIAA International Communications Satellite Systems Conference (ICSSC) and the Hanover Fairs USA’s 7th Annual International Satellite & Communications exchange Conference and Expo (ISCe) will be jointly held in 2008!

The conference will take place 10–12 June in San Diego, California, at the Marriott Hotel & Marina. The joint program will allow both the satellite engineering and business development communities to interact and discuss the key issues, policies, challenges, and opportunities facing the satellite industry, under one unique venue for the global satellite industry.

The ICSSC 2008 technical program will focus on the theme of “Responsive Communication Systems and Services.” The communication satellite industry’s vibrant future depends on its responsiveness to technical, economic, business, regulatory, and policy changes. Responsive communications embrace strong currents of change, including the rapid enhancement of terrestrial telecom networks, ever-more dynamic demands of customers, and the migration toward interoperable and Internet-based mobile networks. Underpinning the ability to respond to this rapidly changing environment are developing communication and network technologies and services, both for use in space and on the ground. What are these new factors and how are they allowing the communication satellite industry to serve its customers more effi ciently and quickly? We would be excited and honored if you will share with us how your company or institute is creating the technologies, systems, applications, and and services necessary for responsive communications.

ICSSC Colloquium

The topic for the Monday June 9th Colloquium will highlight the increases in effi ciencies and profi ts by current and future dual- and multi-use systems and services. High-level commercial and military experts will speak on Dual Use benefi ts from the suppliers and the users viewpoint.

AIAA 2008 Aerospace Communications Award

The Aerospace Communications Award is presented for an outstanding contribution in the fi eld of aerospace communications. This prestigious award will be presented at ICSSC 2008. Nominations will be accepted until 1 October 2007. More information and nomination forms can be found at www.aiaa.org, “Inside AIAA,” “Honors & Awards.” In addition, the AIAA Awards for Best ICSSC Paper and Best Student Paper will be presented at the conference.
